About Sho Otaka [日本語]

Sho Otaka, born in 1977, is a Japanese poet who specializes in haiku.

Enthused by her mother, also a poet, she began writing haiku aged 13, and her first haiku collection

was published at 18. Since then, she has passionately pursued this vocation.

Sho Otaka now dedicates her time to holding haiku-writing workshops both in Japan and overseas. Targeting beginners, children and those studying Japanese she hopes to convey the fun and pleasure of haiku and the charm of Japanese culture.
